An Open Air Sermon: The Way to God - Jn. 14:6

Introduction

·        Man is the most remarkable creation in this world.

·        His body is marvelous, and he can do great things: go to the moon, fly in an airplane, transplant hearts, make computers, talk on telephones, ....

·        Why is man unique?

·        All of creation is “good.”                                                                                 Gn. 1:10,12,18, 21,25

·        But man is called "very good" because man is made in the image of God.                      Gn. 1:31

I.         Man is looking for a way to God.

A.      Everyone knows that heaven is good, and most people want to go there.

1.         Men build “ladders” to God.

2.         Religions are ladders to God.

3.         But we cannot go to God by way of our ladders.

4.         Sin is the barrier between man and God.

5.         God is holy and cannot tolerate sin in His presence.

III.   You must use the way that Jesus has shown.

A.      Every intersection requires a decision: Which way should I go?

B.      Salvation comes by the way of the cross and holiness.       Is. 35:8

C.      You must turn around and go the other way: Repent.

D.      To  be saved, you must place your trust in Jesus as your Savior and Lord.
